After the very successful sea voyage down to Prince Edwards Island back in 2022 (which I didn’t attend), I could not risk missing out again when the news of another cruice surfaced. This time the huge luxurious vessel departed from Durban, with me aboard together with 1900 fellow birdwatchers. It took us about 2½ days to reach the islands, we stayed 1½ days around Marion and Prince Edwards Islands, and then 2½ days back. The cruise was organized as a fundraising project by Birdlife South Africa with the goal of eradicating invasive mice that eat albatross chicks alive.
