Guyana is widely considered one of South America’s premier birding destinations, with over 80% of the country still covered in untouched primary rainforest. The targets here are the Guiana Shield endemics, so even though I have been birding nearby parts of both Venezuela and Brazil in the past, a lot of new photo targets were waiting for me here. This tour was arranged by Ron Allicock and guided by John Christian. And we had the luxury of being only two participants, so no crushing and squashing in front of each other the forest trails. The first 6 photos represent some of the most interesting species on the trip. Uploading of photos is ongoing.
