Scaly-breasted Kingfisher

Sulawesi boasts a spectacular suite of endemic kingfishers. The Scaly-breasted Kingfisher is particularly elusive and was the one species I missed on my previous visit. On this early morning, however, it was nothing short of magical to get a clear look at a female in a dark gully.
