Ever since I read nature filmmaker and whistle artist Jan Lindblad's book ‘Journey to Red Birds’ in my youth, Trinidad & Tobago has had a certain attraction for me. With current taxonomy, the country is now home to two endemic bird species, which alone may not make these Caribbean islands a high-priority destination. But now I had decided to visit the Lesser Antilles (gallery on its way), and also Guyana (gallery above), in one five-week trip. It would be almost foolish to ignore T&T, especially since the routes passed through Port of Spain several times. Two full days each were spent on the two islands. The photos will appear in strict chronological order.
