Our first sight of the Forest Owlet. We saw 2 individuals at 2-3 occasionans on our visit here. They tend to be more shy than Spotted Owlets.
Forest Owlet was not seen for 113 years, but was rediscovered in 1997! I remember clearly the day I heard the news that it was seen again, I have been dreaming of seeing the bird for myself ever since. Previous scientific name Heteroglaux blewitti.
