Swedish Birds
As a birder living in Sweden, this is the gallery I will work with and About 250 bird species are breeding i Sweden. A few dozen species are passing through on spring and autumn migration. In this gallery, Swedish Birds, all birds are sorted in groups based on the current IOC taxonomy. An additional couple of hundred species are vagrants and more or less rarely seen. You find those in the "Rare Birds in Sweden" gallery. All in all, a bit more than 500 bird species have been recorded in the country. Rare Birds in Sweden
In the 1980's it was very important to me to travel to whereever any rare bird showed up. At least in the south of Sweden. After that, I lost interest in all that and became a "global twicher" instead. In the last few years, however, I'm on the road again motivated by my interest in photography.
Bird images from foreign trips
Birdwatching has been my main focus on all travels abroad since 1983. But when I purchased my first digital photo equipment in 2002 a new dimension was added to my birding. Photography has since grown significantly in importance, and long species lists less so. For many years I have been fortunate to have good friends and a lovely wife to travel with. They have all been very patience with my photography. Thank you.

I try to capture any plants that appeal to me. Especially those that grows in my part of the world. And maybe especially orchids.
