Swinhoe's Pheasant
Lophura swinhoii
Dasyueshan National Forest, Taiwan - May 2 2017
Close-up view of a male Swinhoe's Pheasant, allways to close for a long lens.
This is the other of the two Taiwanese endemic pheasant. It probably has more spectacular looks compared to the Mikado, but is easier to find by most birders. In fact, it was one of the first target birds that we saw on the island. Never the less, it is a "must see" bird!
