Western Quail-thrush

Western Quail-thrush

Cinclosoma marginatum
Kirkalocka Station, Western Australia - August 6 2024
Quail-thrushes are not related to thrushes, nor quails, but might resemble thrushes in shape and size. They all have their home in Australia and New Guinea and the Western Quail-thrush is as beautiful as the others in the family. They are mostly ground-dwelling and skulking. The two species I searched for on this trip, finally showed well on several occasions after a fair share of stealthing.
