Brown Goshawk

The Christmas Goshawk is currently treated as a subspecies of the widespread Brown Goshawk, but has also been a race of the Variable Goshawk. It has once been treated as a distinct Christmas Island endemic species, and I look forward to the split in that direction. Anyhow, even if I was worrying not to be able to find it, I had 5 or 6 close encounters on my brief visit and they were all very cooperative.
