The last time I had a close look and photo opp on these handsome far-and-fast flying desert birds was in Tunisia 1987. To my amusement they were a quite frequent sight in southern Oman. A day birding the dry wadis and plains with flocks of sandgrouse flying by repeatingly, is a good day.
