Macgregor's Honeyeater is certainly one of the most wanted birds on New Guinea for any birder that visits the island. This species used to be treated as a Bird of Paradise, and had the common name Macgregor's Bird of Paradise. Now it is placed with the Honeyeaters. Macgregor's Honeyeater is also called Ochre-winged Honeyeater and Macgregor's Lappetface by various authors.
