Vitstrupig biätare
Merops albicollis
Dakhla, Western Sahara - 19 mars 2017
An obvious target and a very easily accessible one was the White-throated Bee-eater that had been present in a hotel garden in Dakhla Bay for some time. It is only the second record for Western Palearctic, the first was in very nearby Gleb Jdiane in 2013. There has been some debate on the origin for for bird, but the general opinion seems to be that it has made the journey far away from its natural range all by itself.
