Numbat

Everyone knows that Australia has a wealth of intriguing mammal species, mainly consisting of marsupials. Kangaroos are a common sight, and I can not see enough of them. Many species are mainly nocturnal and others are unfortunately endangered or near extinction and thus difficult to find. The Numbat is critically endangered, numbering at about 1000 animals or less. But they are diurnal, as they forage on termites that come up to the ground surface. Dryandra Woodland is the place to go, though there are only one Numbat per square-km there. If you are lucky, you see one.
